Rear seat and front seat interchangeable?
 

Hello Square body fans,

I have an '84 dually crew cab 3+3. My front seat is shot, however, the rear is in very good condition. My questions are, can you simply switch them or are they in fact different. Are the seats the same but you would have to swap over the seat brackets?

Yes you can just swap the brackets and you're good to go. Ive done it several times

Same seat, just switch the tracks from the front to the back. The rear seats always make good donors.
The only other thing that is going to be different, is your front seat is non-tilt. The rear seat does tilt. Once you take apart your seat, you will see what makes a seat tilt or non-tilt. You can make the adjustments needed or leave it.

Well thank you to the both of you. Yeah, it's been such a while I forgot the rear seat does fold down, could make things interesting in a panic stop if i forget to swap that part over as well...but then again, this truck does not stop in the first place.

If you do make that change, don’t forget the hinge garnishes. They are made for tilt (top pic) & non-tilt (bottom pic).
