Alternator wiring

1 Attachment(s)
Working on my wiring hook up. Can anyone tell me what wires go where from my alternator. Ls1 Camaro alternator with 4 wire set up. White, yellow, blue, and green wire? I think 2 of them are used and 2 not but any help would be appreciated.

Re: Alternator wiring

Do you know the year of Camaro that that engine came out of?

Reason being = then the alternator can be looked up to figure out what exact model it is.
Once you have the alternator model then you/we can search for the schematic and or to hook it up.

Looking what I think It came out of I see that there were about three sizes and a couple of designs of alternators Plus a Canadian version.

I will have to go and see what year it was. I bought it brand new for my ICT pulley set up.

Ok I looked it up as it was purchased a while ago. Aka very slow build. Haha. It is ALTERNATOR FOR CHEVROLET GMC ISUZU OLDSMOBILE REMAN model 8206-5. I bought the pigtail for it after.

That should be a CS 130

I don't have all that much faith in Hemings info but here is a link to their instructions https://www.hemmings.com/stories/art...30-alternators

This video is well worth watching for hooking up the CS 130 https://www.google.com/search?q=Wiri...rr-wSBlq_oBQ32

He is a 4x4 guy but no BS or nonsense and tells it pretty straight.

Thank you. May have just figured it out. I just dug out my ls harness that I ordered back a few months ago. (More like a year). My ls harness already has the wire on for alternator so I am all set and can just eliminate the one I have with 4 wires. Doing this for the first time I can tell you wiring is very intimidating. Going slow and making sure I have it right.

Re: Alternator wiring

I've got one of those alternators that I bought at a yard sale with the bracket attached. I think the bracket fits a truck engine. The guys who had it swapped the engine into an older truck and used the alternator off the older truck. For 3.00 I couldn't turn it down as it fit my son's truck with a 5.3 in it.
