Tire Suggestions - Help

Good morning and hope everyone is staying healthy and safe.

So I will be running a 15x8 in the rear and a 255/60, and a 15x6 front rim. I originally considered running a 225/60 up front but I'm not sure if I will like the height of the tire compared to the rear. So the only other option Diamond Back offers would be a 215/70, and I'm afraid it will look too skinny.

Truck is a 65 SWB on air ride. I originally had 235/70 all the way around but switched to wider wheels in the back and wanted to put new whitewalls on all the way around. Thoughts, suggestions?

Am I just overthinking the height by looking at the tires off the rim?

That 6” wheel might be a problem if you have disc brakes, go with a 7” or 8” if possible.

I run a 235/70/15 on 7” rally up front, then 275/60/15 on 8” rally in back, I have drop spindles/coils and rear airbags

I'm currently still on drums for now. Do you have a side view of your truck?

Thanks. It doesn't seem like the 70 in the front and 60 in the rear has that big of a difference.

215/70 is closest to the rear by comparison.

255/8 = 31.875
31.875 x 6 = 191.25
While a 205 is closest, the 215 you mentioned is a closer match of rubber per inch of wheel width vs. the 225.

255 x 60% = 6.02" sidewall height (27.04" OD)

215 x 70% = 5.92" sidewall height (26.85" OD).
The height is slightly shorter vs. the rear but still fills the wheel opening vs an even shorter 225/60 @ 25.63" OD.

The heights are based off of calculations & will vary slightly depending on the tire manufacturer.

Scoti - thank you for the break down. I spoke with Diamond Back and they are sending me out the 215's and I'm sending back the 225's. I look forward to seeing this thing back down on the ground.
