Who makes the best 1972 Replacement Tank? I’d like an OE steel one and not a plastic tank.

I got mine from LMC. I think Brothers also sells them.

If you want to go with a fancy aftermarket type, Boyd's Welding is one of the best in the business, but that will run you about $700.

Yea, I ordered mine from LMC.....no issues at all...fit as advertised. The nice thing is you can get them with a port for a return line if you even think you might run fuel injection.
