Tire size question

2 Attachment(s)
I have a slight drop on my 1966 C10 stepside now and I am thinking about getting stock springs to bring it back to the original ride height and wanted to know What the largest tire size I could fit. Right now I have 235/75r15 on 15x8 6 lug ralley wheels. I want more of an all terrain tread. Was hoping to fit 31x10.5r15 But I think they may be too wide.

The front wont be the biggest concern if you go back to stock height. The rear however...
You can use this link to put in tire sizes and compare them - https://tiresize.com/comparison/
Nice truck by the way, you should post us up some info, pics etc on a thread. Looks great.

I agree, B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L truck!

Another issue you haven't addressed is heavy steering. If you have Power Steering, it's somewhat of a moot point. However, wider tires and manual steering can be a real arm and shoulder workout! Chevy's generally had plenty of room in the wheel wells with their cars and trucks (Corvette being a notable exception) that clearance for a wider tire is not an issue. However, with that much larger contact patch comes considerably more stress on your steering system as a whole. Not just the linkage, but the steering gear-box as well. Some other brands/makes displayed some really serious problems with the wider and radial tires. Nash, Studebaker, possibly Ford, and some Chrysler products come to mind.
