Re: Heater core
Take the old one to a radiator repair shop and have it repaired/re-cored.

Re: Heater core
Knock on wood, the chinese aluminum Spectra is holding up in mine, gotta be in there at least 5 years now. I have good experience the the chinese spectra radiators, I find they are actually built more accuratly than their old copper/brass rads.

Re: Heater core
I have a aluminum heater core in my truck going on two years now and has does the job. I got some feedback from dudes here that had good luck with them as well.

Re: Heater core
My son replaced the one in his 86 with a Chinese aluminum, and it lasted about 6 months.

Re: Heater core
howdy fellas, anyone know the reputation of this one from classic?
p/n 3015169 brass w/o a/c https://www.classicindustries.com/product/3015169.html from a mechanic's point of view, it looks good and sturdy but haven't installed it yet.. I was hoping for the $70 sale price at the time it would be worth it.. thank you! |
Re: Heater core
Got it replaced last night, of course it didn't fit right so I had to modify my heater box. Got it in. Glad I replaced it. There were signs it has been leaking for a while, but only saw it leak once.
