1989 2WD Blazer??

I just watched this video from United by Trucks:

https://youtu.be/M-tHHVwbYKE

The guy from Level 7 says the Blazer started out as a 2WD and then goes in to say it was converted to 4WD later on and it's a 1989 so it's 350/TBI. I'm hoping Keith Seymour can chime in here, did Chevrolet or GMC make any 2WD Blazers or Jimmys after 1982? All the literature I can find says they're discontinued post 1982.

Could a 2WD Blazer or Jimmy have been special ordered post 1982? Or would this have been fleet only etc.?

My curiosity has been piqued.

Lat year for the 2WD blazer was 82. Simple as that. The VIN will tell the story, unless it was swapped too.

I have watched the full video before, the Blazer he is referring to is the earlier 2wd donor that they bought for the chassis. They put the '87 body on the 2wd chassis. There was no 2wd to 4wd conversion mentioned that I'm aware of.

No, this is the interview with the Level 7 guy. He shows a cream colored 4x4 Blazer and tells a bit of a story. He claims the owner bought it from someone who got it at a government auction and it was originally a 2wd but the person who restored it converted it to a 4wd. He then says it's a 1989 model since it's a 350/700R4 with fuel injection.

I watched the UBT guys do their conversion also, that was the other way around. This is a shorter video about a few different trucks at Level 7 and one other collector.
