Motor Mounts
hey guys
can someone tell me the difference between poly motor mounts from energy suspension? I thought these two years should be the same. NAPA is telling me these years will be the same. 1991 crew cab is still squarebody the same as 1987 1991 R3500 the part number is 3.1116R 1987 C20 part number is 3.1121R Thanks |
Re: Motor Mounts
My thought is they should be the same unless their catalog figures 87 as the next body style---or the 91 as the same. With both being the end of an era..who knows. I do not recall any difference in the clams

I figured it out, they finally emailed me back. the 3.1121 is for the big trucks and 3.1116 is for cars. the search on energy suspension sucks. lol there must be a size difference. |
Re: Motor Mounts
Any particular reason you’re using the poly mounts in place of regular rubber?

Sorry, your reply came to my spam folder. I didn't see you responded until now. I am swapping the 230 inline with a 12 valve cummins. the weight and torque will be hard on the rubber. Its going to be a nice fit......I think thanks |
Re: Motor Mounts
No worries man. Love a good Cummins swap, good luck!

Re: Motor Mounts
If the 88-91 large body sub, crew,1ton if they had the small block/BB claim shell would be the same as small block/BB claim shell 73-87 c/k. All 73-87 Cars /trucks and your large body Trucks/car 88-91 small block/BB claim shell are the same. just the claim shell. But you would need motor bracket from the cummins motor then bottom plate of the claim welding fitting them to get there. GM trucks had 5 motor set up on par and the 230 inline six mounts and motor brackets are not the same as the v8 or the diesel Chevy

Re: Motor Mounts
Why does it seem that the majority of the cummins engine swaps are put up for sale about a year after they are completed?? or is it just me?

If you zoom in on my picture, you can see what I made. I have done a cummins swap in a square body crewcab also, and I used the cummins mount on the engine. I'm trying it this way for this swap. I wish you would have responded before I bought the wrong one lol Thank You |

Not sure if I will like, but this 2wd seems like it will be more fun than the square body 1 ton crewcab that is in the body shop right now. I'm building this one with 500hp. It will have the 1/2 ton springs for a good ride. I will have this one for my everyday driver. I'll let you know when I start driving it. |
