Front end conversion ‘85 to ‘67

Has anyone tried to convert the front clip on their square body to a 1967-68 style?

Re: Front end conversion ‘85 to ‘67

Cant say that I've ever seen it done...
but I could imagine it would be a extreme amount of fab work, as none of the bodylines and contours would even be close to matchng
What's the idea behind it?

Probably easier to body swap the early cab and sheetmetal onto the later frame...

Definitely a lot of work if it were done. One thing that would distract is the wheel opening difference, 67-72 is rounded, not squared. would look odd compared to the rear wheel well openings.

Yes it is a lot of metal work. I’ve been hammering it out slowly. Here you can see the fenders are done, core support blended into the peaked grill, the grill is narrowed and fitted, the headlights were mated to the core support. And the bumper was reshaped and tucked in tighter. The hood still needs to be reshaped to resemble that of the ‘67. I will show pictures of the hood once I’m completely done with it. I only have half of it reshaped to fit the ‘67 grill. This truck is full of custom metal work. I will post pictures once I finish the hood. That is the last of the metal work.

Yes, that is a 440 six pack hood.

Ok..I see what your doing now...I thought you meant swapping the whole front clip (fenders, grill & hood) from the 67 to a squarebody cab...
Small back window?
Should be one of a kind..

That looks Good.

Do you plan to put the 67 front bumper on it?

No, I modified the ‘85 front bumper to fit. The 67 front is much more pointed, so I peaked the 85 bumper. It fits better now than It ever fit the stock 85. Gaps are pulled in tight.

Yes, small back window and blazer/bronco style body too

I saw a post on a squarebody group on Facebook a few days ago where a guy put a 67-68 on a 2010 or newer truck.

Not liking the wheel well shape. Is it just me or is the nose dropping down? I would have left the full 2010 wheel well. I would like to see under the hood to see how he will blend that in.

Thanks for the photo. Always good to see someone else’s vision

I agree on the wheel arch. The side marker light should have been eliminated, and the 2010 arch extended forward.

It looks very nose heavy. Almost a bit of a Superduty appearance.

65standard, you're truck looks awesome! How are you going to title the thing? It's hardly an 80's truck anymore.

Any chance your next project will be the GTO/k10 mashup that I've seen photoshop pics of? I'd like to see to a well-executed version of that combo in real life.

Finally back to work on the front sheet metal. Finished fabricating the hood. Just need to finish welding the rear spoiler and I’m done with all the custom metal work.
