55 door windows

Has anyone seen a good video on how to get the vent and door windows in to a 55-59? I have no original parts so everything is new from LMC, I'm not really sure but I would imagine the vent window frame has to go in first.

I started but thought I was going to scratch the new parts all up getting them in

Use lots of blue painters tape to protect the paint. Because of the bracket on the vertical channel you’ll have to slide it in and turn it. A tab on the bottom of the window frame fits a slot in the sheet metal that joins the inner and outer skins of the door. After that, there’s a handful of screws that attach the vent frame to the door and a couple bolts for the lower vertical channel bracket.

Thanks for all the input here.

That video is good. I had seen others that have you put the main window in last, but that video shows putting the main window in and leaving it unattached and out of the way down in the bottom of the door. That makes good sense to me.

I'm sure one of the two methods will work.

thanks

Every door window with a vent wing that I have worked on you put the door glass in the door and then put the wing assembly in. I've got to swap doors on my 71 GMC and need to buy all the rubber pieces and channel for it.

Yeah that totally makes sense now that I've seen it done that way.

We did a 2000 mile road trip all over Oregon and Washington last year. We went from Hood river to Goldendale through Toppenish to Yakima and up to Ellensberg for part of it and took the older highway that is in the yakima valley man you've got some good roads and scenery up there

I think it was in goldendale or near that we found a Sinclair gas station complete with dinosaur statues... I didnt know any were left

We would like to get our truck reliable enough to do it again and take a little camper with us
