Power steerig conversion 4x4 Jimmy 71

Does the 4X4 71 Jimmy need different parts to convert it to power steering than a 4x2 C10 ?
If So can anyone tell me what works and maybe does anybody have all the necessary parts, in excellent working condition of course.

I am looking at purchasing one and would like to know !

Thanks
Charlie

The 2wd box is different so you'll need a 4wd box and lines. The pump and brackets are the same

i would stay with an 73 thru 88 4x4 gearbox,be sure it still has the pitman arm on it,and get the pump and hoses. it will bolt right on with no drilling.be sure you know if you have the short or long water pump and get the stuff off the same.

chiphayes is right but they changed the type of hose fittings somewhere in the 80's. It's still a bolt on though. Also you can get the box of any Sub, truck 1/2 ton-3/4 ton, Blazer whatever, they're all the same

Charlie, any 68 and up thru the 70's 4x4 PS setup will work. I would not buy piece parts but get a complete setup with hoses brackets pulley etc. And make sure the seller guarantees it not to leak, bind etc. It will be a direct bolt up> I had planned to convert that Jimmy to PS but never got around to it. Nice to hear it will stay in the "Family". Huck :)

Power Steering 71 Jimmy

Huck, Thanks for the info. Do you know if I will have to change the Center Link or some say Drag Link? I know I had to do that on the 68 C10 when I converted it.

Thanks
Charlie
