Who has sound deadener in their cab??
 

I curious what everyones experience with sound deadening the interior of their cab. What products and brands have you liked? Disliked?


I'm wanting to deaden the firewall, floor, back of the cab, and the inside of the doors. Right now it's just tooooooo noisy!

so far i've done the back of the cab the gas tank the floor and the firewall and it's made a BIG difference in the noise and comfort with the ac someday i'll get around to doing the doors also
i got all my stuff thru jcwhitney was very happy with both the quality and the price

I put dynamat on the firewall floor and back of the cab(no gas tank there) and recently when I put my new doors on i put it in them too. Its quite a bit quieter but you have to make sure and get all the seals replaced so you dont have sound leaking in and driving you nuts. Definetly worth the effort though.

i hear "brown bread" is very good and cheap. i think i am going to order some myself. search ebay for "brown bread" its 129.99 for 70sq. ft.

I used Herculiner bedliner on the entire floor and wheelwells, and I bought closed cell foam from a heating and air conditioning place- $49 for the Herculiner and $97 for the foam- did my whole blazer interior. Can't tell you if I like it or not yet cause I haven't finished my blazer, but it sure looks like it is going to work good. Just a little adhesive in the corners to tack each piece down and put the carpet over it.

I've been thinking about ordering some brown bread too. I would lay that down everywhere and then use some of B-Quiet's Lcomp or Vcomp. I think that would be the ultimate way to go.

There is also a kit available from Quiet Ride. This is a pre-cut kit that is ready to go. It's what was used on Copper head.

Now I just have to decide which one to do.

my truck is also very noisy but maybe thats because the doors are rusted through on the bottom, no weatherstripping round door and there is a hole in the floor. i want to get it quieter. i will fix all that other stuff and maybe put bedliner underneath the carpet or something and put the exhaust out the rear of the truck instead of infront of the rear wheels

I posted about this a while back in the GD forum. I am planning on doing the interior of my 77 next month. I plan to use a layer or two of the Brown Bread. Here are a couple of threads discussing what's best-

Well my truck has dynamating Extreme in both doors, floor from fire wall to the gass tank behind the gas tank and over the gas tank and behind it.....

Made a hugh difference and was well worth it:metal:

Careful with that insulation you bought, it is call armaflex and it stinks to high heaven when in a inclosed hot area. I work with this stuff and was going to put some in my 70 but could'nt stand the smell.

DavidM. With the dynamat in the doors does it stick well? I was wondering how it will hold up after driving through the rain or washing your truck as the water drains down in the lower door cavity. Doug

I have dynomat on the floors and heavy rubberized undercoating on the inside of the doors.....I am very happy with it so far.....

I've heard good things about brown bread's sound deadening qualities. How's it for insulation?

I bought 100 sq ft of the B-Quiet last Christmas. My wife put it in and it seems to work pretty good. My problem is that it was so long between me driving my truck that I forget what it was like before. She put about 3 layers on the gas tank and 2 layers on everything else. Couldn't get it to stick inside the doors, but did put it on the back of the door panels. My stereo sounds really good and all inside also.

I also have problems with my passenger side window regulator so I haven't driven the truck with the windows up and the slider closed yet.

I used dynamat in my 69 truck, from the rear window to the firewall. And used b quite on my 71 that I sold. I personally think the dynamt is a better quality product, as it sticks and rolls out better. But for the price of the b-quite, it is 1/2 the price and did 2 trucks. I will be using b-quiet on my blazer....cause it's free.

I can't imagine why you are having a problem with noise. Sounds like you have plenty of escape routes for the noise.LOL
