Should you put something between the leaf springs?

is there something that goes between the leaf springs and should you use them? Or could you just stacked the leaves on top of each other?
And what about leaf spring pads that get sandwiched between the Leaf springs and the axle? Energy suspension says that it reduces vibration from entering the frame into the cab.

I just had liners added to the top and bottom of my spring packs in the Blazer and definitely noticed an improvement in ride quality - quieter and seemed to reduce vibration. Every little bit helps in a 4wd. GM made use of a similar liner. I highly recommend using these.

Just atop and beneath each spring pack. Two per spring. If I can find an OEM example pic I’ll post it here.

Added borrowed pics of OEM examples

Thanks for the reply and the picture of the new ones. I do have the originals and it looks just like the old ones you have pictured there. I guess it's time to replace them for my 69.
