wiper motor

Hello,

I have connected a new wiper motor in my son 69 C10. Its all connected and the motor doesn't work. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I check the terminals on the wiper motor. I get 12V on the yellow wire. Also I get 12V on the light blue wire. Attached are pictures of the connections on the wiper motor. We are not using the wiper motor fluid pump. All the wiring is brand new. Its a American Auto wire harness.

Thanks,
Ramiro

You have it wired correctly at the motor.

Is the wiper switch mounted in the dash? It has to be because that is where the wiper circuit gets it's ground.

A couple of things you can try.

1. Check the fuse. If there is one there take it out and clean the fuse holder contacts and ends of the fuse.

2. Try another fuse.

3. Connect a ground wire with alligator clips from bare metal on the wiper motor to the dash and try it.

I just read your first post again. If you are getting 12v on the blue wire when it is not plugged into the the wiper motor it is wired wrong. That is a ground wire that goes to the wiper switch.

LocDoc,

We replaced the fuse. Even if the. Fuse looked good. Added a ground with. Alligator clips and it worked. I removed the ground with the alligator clips. And it works perfectly. Thank you.
