Stainless Brake Lines
I'm thinking about purchasing a stainless steel brake line kit for my 72 1/2 ton. I was hoping that some of you guys could provide me a with a little feedback as to what kits you've used and how happy you were with them. Any insight helps!

Two weeks to early  we are getting ready to install the SS lines on our 72 4x4 project. we got ours via LMC, have got some neg in put on them before, but we are going to use them anyhow. ;)
Try the search feature, that might help you out as well. |
I went with the Chevy Duty set for $154.95. They haven't been installed, but matching them up with the old lines, they look pretty good.

I think that's where I got mine too...(Inline Tube)

I used a set of the stainless from In Line Tube on my 71 4x4. They fit exceptionally well and I had no problems. I recently purchased a truck from a friend that used a Classic Tube set for a 72 4x4. When I started going through the boxes of parts I found the lines all bent up in a box. He said they were crap, only about half the lines were a correct fit.

Thanks alot for the input so far....... please keep it coming!

I bought Inline tube and its a extensive kit. Havent put them on yet but it looks fine. I am doing a conversion to disc, told the guy what I am using and he tailor made me a kit at the same price...so I would say good customer service also. :)

I bought a set from Scott's super trucks in Canada, not sure of the manufacturer.
They look nice, cost about $275 Can, I guess around 200 US. I laid them all out for install last week and the fronts are bent perfectly and fit just great. The intermediate and rear lines are incorrect though. It seems there are two styles for a 71 LWB 2WD coil spring and I was sent the other. The LMC catalogue explains this but it was news to me and my supplier evidently. You will need to do at least two simple bends (with out tools) when you get them. I think that unless time isn't money for you the pre-bent lines are the way to go. |
I bouoght mine from Classic Industries during there last 20% sales and they fit fine.

My SS brake and tranny cooler lines are from The Right Stuff Detailing. Top quality lines, and they will duplicate your lines if they are unique like mine were. There website is: www.rightstuffdetailing.com
