C10 72 White/Med Bronze for Replacement Tailgate
 

My new tailgate is in Paint & Body and I had a chat with them yesterday about progress. He wanted to know if I had my Paint Codes. While he has some kind of a camera system that compares existing paint to a zillion colors, having codes would be plan A.

I know my "factory" codes doing research here from my SPID data sheet:

WHT / MED BRONZE / WHT with an option code of 146210. My understanding
is that "462" breaks down by some chart to be code 522 (Bronze) and code 521 (White).

He is not so sure the White is actually straight GM 521 White but perhaps more of a pearl white. Not sure what anyone can tell with my attached photo but any paint experts I'd welcome your opinion. Though I am sure he'll get it right but him asking me what I know got me thinking about asking here.

I have a feeling my question is silly with a "internet forum photos".... what I wouldn't do to be able to talk to the people that did the work on this truck 10 years ago Ha!

The guns now will give you the correct color . After 10 years I'd guess the color has subtle changes to it

I suppose on the up side, the white on the tailgate doesn't butt up to any other white.

Though I am not sure what you mean by gun ... I am guessing that is some paint color matching tool.

Plain old GM 521 White on my roof, wheels and midsection.
