What type of spark plug wire ?

What should I look for in a good wire set for SBC HEI setup ?

8mm + ?
150 ohms/foot ?
spiral ?
solid core ?

In other words, what combo provides the strongest spark
given all other factors the same ?

Thanks

Ev

MSD 8.8's.

Solid core used to be the best...but with modern eletronics, they are no longer needed and will not work with some newer marvels...besides the fact you would never hear your radio again

Why MSD 8.8 vs 10mm .... isn't bigger, better ?

I went with the Taylor spiral 8.5 MM in hot orange from Summit. They are great wires!!:D

taylor spiro pros are excellent wires and teh moroso blue max wires are great as well. i am currently running taylors myself and have been for over 20k miles. i sell taylors to most everyone that comes into the speed shop and thats all we use at work for the most part on performance cars

Man, Do I feel left out. I've got Accel 8.8 MM and I like them. Maybe I'm just not as cool as you MSD and Taylor Guys. I actually HATE crimping my own spark plug wires. I always end up pulling them apart when I replace spark plugs!!!

SILLY...THATS WHAT DIELECTRIC GREASE IS FOR...MAKE'S THEM SLIDE RIGHT OFF :D

The last time I used dielectric grease it had dried out and crusted when I had pulled off the spark plug boots. Maybe it was just crappy grease!!
