1978 bench seat adjustment
Started driving my 78 and was wondering if there is a adjustment that can be made to the back of the bench seat to adjust the pitch of the back seat. I cant remember if before it was was recovered there was a adjustable bolt type mech. on each side. Willing to give up a couple inched of leg room for a more leaned back seat.

Now the 81-87 seats, people have been known to take those bolts out also. But again, the seat back has nothing to rest on, other than the back wall. |
Re: 1978 bench seat adjustment
I bought the seat by it self but pretty sure it is a 79. Yes it has the locking mech. as you described to hold the seat in place so I guess no adjustment possible. Maybe I can raise the front of the entire seat (by modifying the front brackets??? LOL maybe. It tilts or folds forward.

Re: 1978 bench seat adjustment
The seat tracks have two bolts per side mounting them to the seat base. One front bolt and one rear bolt. I suppose you could make a spacers for the front, get longer bolts and tilt the entire seat. This would bend the rear tab of the seat rail a bit, but probably not a big deal.
