Rear Leaf springs

Did a 70 Chev CST C10 2WD ever have a rear leaf spring option, or heavy duty half ton?

Yes, I think you could get the leaf springs as an option. It should be listed on the SPID sheet on the inside of the glove box door.

Going to pick the truck up Monday in Montana seller said it had leaf springs and I had never heard of that option. Thought it was only GMC.

Could have leafs or coils, and could have the camper option even.

Well was a surprise to me and I got a little nervous since I had made a down based on pictures. Leaf springs on a Chevy should be good bench racing trivia.

Have a 69 CST Camper Special with wide tires in rear and it has coils?

Re: Rear Leaf springs

What does the SPID say about wheels? I worked for Chevrolet dealer(s) on and off over about 3 years, and have seen big (10.5" wide) wheels and tires even put on demonstrator trucks which would not be on the SPID.

My '68 CST/Custom Camper has coils and 16.5 x 8.25 wide wheels. It only lists the spare wheel on the SPID.

My dog gone 71 C-10 SWB 2wd has leaf springs, the guy wanted a Chevy emblem on GMC suspension I guess. It's not a blessing when you're looking for parts.

OT: Something that finally dawned on me the other day, Z62 on the SPID is another way of saying it's the "Deluxe" trim level. At least in 71-72 terms.

I believe all Chevrolets were standard with coil springs and GMC were standard with
Leaf springs, but both could be ordered with either spring option.
