Throttle Cable Linkage to Carburetor
 

Anyone know where to buy the Throttle cable to carb linkage? See pictures.

Thanks, I did replace the choke cable that I broke and that's when I discovered the throttle cable connector to carb was missing. The PO had it wired up to the choke connector. I need the part the throttle cable attaches to on the carb. See picture where I circled that part I am in need of. BTW - the throttle cable works but its not connected right.

A previous owner may have swapped to a carb that didn't use the throttle cable.

The throttle cable wasn't/isn't a necessity of life on these trucks and was primarily used on trucks that had a PTO drive hooked to the transmission. Most guys without a PTO just used them as a fast idle setup when warming the truck up on cold mornings if at all. They aren't a cruise control, that will get you killed.

I call it the Choke/Throttle cable housing clamp/bracket. Used for both applications.

Sound right cmayna, but I couldn't find one on the interweb. Anybody know of a place to purchase? Does someone have a box of old carbs sitting around? :)

The part you have circled is all one piece . The choke an throttle cable bracket are all one piece.

I just wouldn't get too excited about even worrying about the hand throttle thing now. It's something that 90% of the people who had these trucks in the 40's and 50's never used unless they used them to idle the engine faster to warm it up on winter mornings.

That is also something that you can deal with much later along with the cable that goes with it. I'm thinking that they quit putting them on pickups with column shift somewhere along the line anyhow.

Because it is suppose to be there, I want to get it back to original set up. I have it mickey'd for now. Works fine, and you're right very little use for the Throttle until the cold months here and then I really don't drive due to salt on roadways.

That is fine but what I am saying is put that on the bottom of your list of need to do things.

Putting a new cable in and swapping the brackets is a 30 minute project that can be done sometime when you come up with the bracket, it is by no means a must do now thing. Don't let it be a worry thing when you have far more important things to take care of. If you have a list of 50 things to do on the truck that is number 50. Totally unimportant except for the reason you said in post 11.

Hang in there and don't get excited about it and you will spot one on an old carb at a swap meet, someone will find one on a carb on an engine they are getting ready to scrap or spot one on the truck that they are doing a frame swap on and remember that you need one and send you a PM. They aren't hard to find and they aren't worth anything dollar wise.

Sure looks like it. At worst one should be able to buy a used carb with that bracket attached.

Out on the field throwing bales of hay in the back of your truck as you are walking along side your rig. Perfect for the throttle cable application.

Yes, that's the one. It has both choke and throttle linkage. Woot woot.
