Well that was a surprise, my Steele order for beltline fuzzy strips just arrived... in a Precision box. They were ordered directly through Steele, so it appears they're just shipping Precision products now. Save your money and order directly from Precision. I've got an e-mail into them to start the return unless they plan on refunding me the difference.

Steele price - $103.69
Precision price - $70.34

Dam, a guy just can't order anything anymore and get what you want ,allthough I used Precision rubbers and felts on my car and they were good products.

Today's delivery showed up. Ordered stainless steel center caps for my wheels, they shipped chrome. Stainless caps get great reviews, chrome reviews say they start to rust within a year. So I get to send another e-mail.

Nothing exciting, they're aftermarket American Racing caps. I have 2.5" caps but they hit the hub on the fronts so I have to go with 4.5" caps. Even tapping down the grease cup they were still 1/4" too short. Probably could get away with it with 1/4" spacers behind the wheels but decided to go with taller caps.

Response from Steele who did issue a $33 refund for the difference in price.

"Steele does manufacture the majority of our parts at our facility, however, the window felts are an outsourced item we offer to complete a restoration. We do not have the patterns, machinery and expertise required to manufacture them in house. We cover outsourced items with our satisfaction guarantee and hold them to our quality standards."

I've ordered Steele Rubber in the past. Okay but very pricey! I researched Precision and found a Dealer on FB with very good forum reviews. I ordered all the door and glass seals for my 60. Very happy with the product, transaction, and half the price. It was a pleasure doing business with Jon. Check him out! Mister A's Chevy Truck Parts. He keeps them in stock.

Glad you got the refund! I also used Precision rubber for my windows and doors and have been very happy with them. I am about to replace my window felt and rubber...and have precision as well waiting to get the time to do it!

But your point is 100% correct...if I ordered Steele, I would expect the Steeles product unless the website made a point of saying we use another vendor for these. Not acceptable.

On a Facebook page a guy recommended a guy who goes by Mister A's Chevy Truck Parts. He deals in a lot of Precision parts. I contacted him about window gasket for a big window, his shipped price was less than the parts price on Precision's website.

I installed precision on my doors recently, no issues with quality.
