heater hose query

I am installing an Old Air underdash heater/air con unit. It came with a tap that has a by-pass inbuilt. Since I am using the original de-frost leaver and cable to operate the tap it is inside the cab behind the dash. I am a little worried that when I turn the heater off there may be too much heat radiated off the heater hoses with hot water circulating thru them. One hose runs thru the upper Rh side of the firewall above the kick panel and the other side thru the top of the Lh floor, so about 1.8m of hosing. If I could get some feedback from someone who has a similar setup I would appreciate it.
TIA

Are you worried about heat exchanging in the cab? I run a Vintage Air system and here is a photo of how my hoses are routed. I do not have any issues with extra heat in the cab from the hoses to and from the evaporator.

Yes, I was concerned about heat in the cab off the bypass hoses. Thanks for sharing.

Maybe use some heat wrap when installing it? You'll probably get some heat, but nothing like what gets put out when it's flowing through the heater core

vin63. It seems you have an external tap with no bypass hoses. My tap is inside the cabin with hoses that have hot water passing thru them constantly, but bypassing the heater when the tap is turned off..
