What else do i need to make this steering wheel work?

I have a 87 that has a Grant steering wheel. I have never liked it. I got one from a 88-94.
How do i deal with making the horn work? The horn button has 2 spade terminals on it. What do i need and does both spades have to have a wire going to them? |

You need the wire that inserts into that white part sticking out at the bottom. It has a plastic piece with nubs that lock it in like a bulb.

I have 2 male spades on horn button. So plug the new horn wire on one of the spades on the horn button. What goes to the other spade on the horn button?

Ground one terminal and hook the other to the original horn wire .

There is only one terminal. Your button is broken. The tab that holds the button on is broken.

Thanks, I see where mine is missing the little tab that goes to ground on steering wheel hub. Can i just put a small jumper wire from what is left of the tab to steering wheel hub?
Drill and thread hub for a ring wire terminal and use a female spade at button? |
Re: What else do i need to make this steering wheel work?
I didn't think the tab was a ground but I guess it does ground through the wheel with that tab. A wire will work.

I think you need one of these.

Re: What else do i need to make this steering wheel work?
If you wire up the ground then the horn will be one all the time. I uses that tab that's broke to contact the center bolt when pushed chosing the horn to go off. So wiring a ground to it would make the horn go off continuously.

No, the tab grounds to the steering wheel shaft. Pushing the button completes the circuit, completes the ground.
