WTB- Rust free cab and front clip, or whole truck
 

I just bought this 1970 (not 1972) short stepside K10 two days ago. It needs every piece of sheet metal replaced. Everything, but I do not want to deal with rust. I will build a brand new bed from parts from Mar-K, but I need a cab and front clip. I will buy a whole Non-running truck if I have to. I live in upstate NY so it would be nice to find something within 500 miles or so but I have brought trucks home from california many times. I am trying to find a bargain but I know this stuff is not cheap. Thanks, george (PS I am aware it has a 1972 grill in perfect shape. That will be sold eventually).

Whole truck with an extra cab$10,000. Might be more than you need, but nice super straight sheet metal & more!

Is this a fully running truck? AC cab? (I only need a non AC cab). Let me know. Thanks, George

Check out Pittsburgh pa Craigslist there is a guy selling rust free cabs and doors and other parts from California his name is Doug

That is a fully running driving truck. Cab is a non AC cab, with very minimal rust.

Are these photos of a different cab? And if so can you tell me more about it?

Thanks for responding. I went all through the auto parts section of pittsburgh CL but could not find the ad you are talking about. I found a guy who sells newer cabs from down south but that does not sound like Doug. Would you be able to send me a link to the ad you saw? Thanks.

I checked out Doug in Minnesota. He seems like a good guy but right now has only two poor quality cabs available. He deals in other years of Chevy trucks too. I am still looking. Hope to find closer to home.

Completely Rust free are getting hard to find even out here in the desert. They are there but you don’t see them often. Good luck!

You are correct! I have learned of a few and I am finding I need to be willing to drive a long ways to get them.
