Turn signal arm HONKS...

...my horn when it makes contact with the steering wheel column. Anyone point me in a direction to check? Oh, also my right turn signal indicator light comes on (only on the cluster not outside) when I turn on the headlights but will not flash in the cluster. When I turn on my right turn indicator it does flash outside as it's supposed to. Wiring.......:-(

Is the wheel off and can you take a clear photo of the switch?

Here are a few pictures. I think that maybe the screw holding down the signal arm is making contact with the back of the plate? Also the white backing/mounting plate that I am holding with two fingers has a little bit of play in it and it will move up about 1/8 to 1/16. Que-tips point to where I can see a tiny spark when the arm makes contact with the shroud and the screw that appears to have some rub marks on it. I know I could probably insulate the signal arm but I dont think that would be a proper fix. Pretty sure that should not make the horn sound. Would there be a spacer that I'm missing behind the metal plate and the white plastic plate?

Oh, and I figured out why the turn signal bulbs would illuminate when I turned on the lights and not blink when I turned the blinker on. Occams Razor-The bulbs were just put into the wrong spots.

That screw should be tight and hold the arm down. I think I have one with the arm still on it out n the shed to check..

It looks like the screw head is making contact or the loose arm is making contact with the brass contact ring for the horn on the bottom of the adapter.

That screw just screws into the plastic housing of the switch where the arm goes in. You will have to pop the adapter off and tighten the screw but don't overtighten it.

I looked and the one I have left in the shed is missing the switch entirely.

I'm wondering if that is even the correct type of screw to hold the arm down. Yes, the arm does rock a bit along with the plastic piece underneath it. I will take it apart further tomorrow and let you know what the results are. Thanks again.

Yes that looks like the correct type of screw. Just needs to be tight but as mentioned earlier not over tightened.
