70 K10 brake booster

Originally my 70 K10 had non power drums all around. Truck got sold in 97 and a few years ago I bought it back. It now has been converted to power drums. Recently I got a Cardone booster rebuilt for my 69 Cougar and I'm happy with the unit. Through Rockauto you send in your booster and Cardone rebuilds it and sends it back.

What color and style is the booster supposed to be on a 70? Pictures online show cad plated, black and bendix or delco. The booster I took out is cad plated. For piece of mind I was going to send it out and have it rebuilt. The PO drove this truck with this unit for 15 years.

My other option is to sandblast the booster and either paint it or use the Eastwood cad plating.

Thanks

Paul

DM were (I believe) zink dichromate (referred to also as cad, gold with other colors rainbowed in). Bendix were black.

I am not affiliated but I am using Mike at brakebooster.com. Seems easy to work with and called me to warn me that there was fluid inside my booster. He was essentially warning me about a potential problem with my MC. I was aware of the previous leak and had already rebuilt it, but I was impressed that he thought to call and advise me.

If nothing else, his site shows the various plating finishes. Image is from the site.
