Need information on rear bumper brackets
1 Attachment(s)
Putting a chrome rear bumper on my 71 chevy short wide with leaf spring, 4x4 brackets. If I install brackets where they line up with holes in the frame it would be about 2.25" from back of the bed. Is that correct? If I install whith one hole lined up with brackets bumper is .5" from back of bed. How much should the gap be?

Re: Need information on rear bumper brackets
I just installed mine, swb 72 4x4, a few months ago , all holes lined up and mines looks to be about 1/2 in. You do have the correct swb 4x4 brackets with the brace welded on the inside ?
Is you truck a 4x4 or 2wd, if it's 2wd I've read on here of guys having issues. Gary |
Re: Need information on rear bumper brackets
Yes, correct brackets with brace welded on the inside. It's a 2wd.

Re: Need information on rear bumper brackets
There was a guy with a thread on here with similar issues. Had good pics and measurements. Might helpful if you can find it, do a search. If I find it I'll attach a link to it.
