What Headers to buy
 

I have a 1984 C10 LWB, with a small block, Vortec heads, stroked 383, and lowered 5/6. I want to replace the 2.25” exhaust with 2.5” and new headers. Hoping someone can share their experience and knowledge in helping me make the correct header purchase. Anyone have any ideas on the headers I should put on the truck?

I would read some of the build threads and see if there is a similar truck to yours and look at what they used. Rusty is one that had vortec heads for a while. Lots of pages to that one. Have you done a search? Are the exhaust ports in the same place so that headers are interchangeable between vortec and earlier heads? I know that's not the case with intake manifolds, but I don't know about the exhaust. Stock height truck versus lowered might make a difference too, in what you want to buy.
