Speaker placement comments wanted

I am planning a sound system for my Blazer and am looking for comments that reflect personal experience. Do the aftermarket tweeters for the A pillar work well? How about the pods that utilize the kick panel area at the foot level? The rear speakers are easy. Because I am north of the 49th returning items is typically not worth while. Everybody sells these speaker parts but not many comment on them. Comments are welcome. Thank you

I put all new speakers in the original stock places. The 2 3.5” under the dash and 4x10’s behind the seat. BTW, mine is the single cab truck. Then I put the A pillar Tweeters in. I think everything looks and sounds good, but I don’t have to have loud boomin music either.

I should have mentioned this truck is a 77. Did you notice an improvement in sound when you installed the A pillar tweeters?

I would say it did. I did it all at once, so wether it was the new speakers and/or tweeters, or the new CustomAuto Sound radio, it sounds good now.

Agree with the original spots
I see guys hacking up original panels and to me it looks like crap and that panel is junk for the next owner , just my opinion .

Panels are replaceable. Besides their usually brittle and faded after 40+ years. If you're a "true" music enthusiast and love music as much as old trucks something has to give. If done professionally, you can have the best of both.

Does anybody have a preference for a pair of replacement speakers for the single speaker in the center of the dash?

I used Kickers, when I replaced all my oem speakers.
