Billet grilles

Does anybody make a reproduction of the classic 1971-72 egg crate grille insert but made from billet aluminum? I know they make the aftermarket billet grilles with the flat bars in various widths and even the phantom style grilles. But I think a billet egg crate style grille would be pretty sharp looking too. Maybe not the same depth as the original plastic insert ones. That would be pretty pricey I'd think. I dont think I've ever seen one like the one I'm asking about. What do you guys think?

I've thought about building one, not out of billet but out of flat stock. I still might do that someday, although I'm pretty happy with the plastic insert I put in last year.

Not sure if this is what you are thinking. Towards the end of this thread a board member ordered one from the company they are talking about.

Thanks CG, that is exactly what I'm talking about. Wow that's a nice looking grille they make. And the price seems appropriate for what I thought it would be. I'm already gonna start saving my pocket change. :)

I went with the chromed plastic grille.
I did look up the aluminum grille.

1971-1972 Chevrolet aluminum grille, Polished finish
Regular price
$1,399.00
That's a lot of change. However, I don't think its out of line for the work that goes into this product.
