Are you looking for the steelie type, like Wheel Vintiques sells?

Me too. The cheapo in me can't bring myself to pay Vintiques prices. I may have to settle for some Furd 16"x7". They come on vans and such. Fleebay has them for $75 each delivered.

Re: WTB 16X8, eight hole wheels.

I only know of 8-lug 16 x 8 steelies being made by Wheel Vintiques. They never existed before that. My friend doesn't like that those, for some strange reason, have no vent holes. He calls mine skid loader wheels . Bugs me too, but. Well, what he did for his truck cost a little (like a lot) more. He gathered OEM GM 16" wheels, sent them to a wheel builder in CO, and they used the centers inside 17 x 9 rims. Steel wheel shipping both ways, PA-CO then CO-PA probably cost as much as my set of wheels that cost me nothing for shipping. His wheels are nicer, though

Hey Larry, I'm hoping all this helps in some way. At least good for a TTT.

I should have been more specific. Yes I am looking for 4 nub steelies.

I have had the Wheel Vintiques ordered since April. Delivery has been postponed three times, and I got a message last week they are scheduled for mid February.

I may just powdercoat another set of 7" wheels and forget about it.

Larry, you might try US Wheels 659. That’s what I went with for my 16x10’s. They also have 16x8.

I have some 16x7 ford wheels. I might have 16x8 but I'd have to double check.

There is a fella in GA I think that widens wheels. I think I have his number in my PM's. I am going to send him a set of 15x6 4 nubs to turn them into 15x8's or 9's.

I would love to have that number. I took some 7's to the powder coater yesterday, but I would cancel that order if I could get some 8's. Wher is he located?

Thanks,
Larry

Larry, are you changing up the 71?

While my Longhorn was waiting for an engine, I robbed the wheels and tires off of it and put on another truck. which now resides in wine country.

I now have the Longhorn running and need wheels.

I am cleaning up a set of 7" wheels, and I would like to get some 8" painted or PC'd. I have no idea which I will use.

I don't really have plans to pull the wheels off the green 71. It looks pretty good to me.

My powder coater got my attention. He now gets $115/wheel.

I may have to shop.

Dang, thats a lot of dough to powder coat a set of wheels plus a spare.

Sand blast, primer, paint.

Ive had them done both ways and Im just as happy with paint. Done with decent prep, its something easily done at home.

Re: WTB 16X8, eight hole wheels.

Actually this is a shop I don't normally use. My guy is covered up with his day job.

Paint works better on wheels any way because you can touch up paint.

Yup. That's the fella. I couldn't find his info either.

Re: WTB 16X8, eight hole wheels.

I couldn't find anyone in my area that would PC wide steel wheels. They said you just can't get the product in the crevasses and they would look horrible in a month. I painted mine and never looked back.

Re: WTB 16X8, eight hole wheels.

I had the same powder coat guy since the '80s. A well established shop, did a lot of production runs. But the back door was open to locals, race car guys, etc. That was a good thing for a long time but he sold to one of his guys and retired. I found out when I stopped by to see about bringing the 72's 16 x 8s in. I left feeling like I didn't want to deal with this guy, time to find another shop. I painted them.

I never knew about that guy in GA. I'll keep that info. I guess wheel widening isn't so common anymore because there used to be places that did it. People would tell me of different shops but I never looked into them. A lot of race car wheels used to be locally built.
