To replace or not, rear brake cylinders
I replaced rear brake cylinders, with the front also, in July 2015 when I got truck. The rear shoes were pretty good at the time. Will be replacing brake shoes and not sure if the cylinders should be replaced this time. By the time I get to it, they will almost be 7 years old. Haven't done a complete rear brake job in many years. Thought I may need to go ahead and replace, but wanted opinions.

Unless they are leaking there is no need. Just keep an eye on them.
Unless you have a spare set in your toolbox or money is no object, that is. |

You don’t need to replace the cylinders (maybe), but you should inspect them. Easy to pull them apart in place and check the bore. Use a piece of super fine emery cloth and give them a quick clean.
If you find any excessive pitting you should get new ones. |

How old is your rear brake hose?
Take lots of pictures before you start. |

I do not know how long since they have been replaced, or if ever. I did not replace the rears in 2015. |
