Gas pedal swap
1 Attachment(s)
I have a 70 blazer that I just put new power in. Still a small block but heads, valve covers and intake are making the mechanical linkage unworkable. I did a search on here and there was a fella making conversions for 71-72 style but it seems like he’s not around anymore. Has anyone done a swap that can steer me in the right direction? I found a 72 pedal in my shed full of parts so I guess I just need the brackets and cable.

Here is a picture installed. Note: No drilling was required it goes through an existing hole. I believe the hole is originally for the rubber plug that retains the firewall insulation.
If you require a transmission kick down it can be installed on the bracket on the inside of the vehicle. They are a lot less expensive than the older ones attached to the carburetor. Don't forget to purchase a plug assortment to plug the original hole. + I used an aftermarket custom cable. Because of this I had to make an adapter where the cable went through, the eye on the end, to retain the end of the cable or it would just pull through. If using a stock cable this wouldn't be necessary. Attachment 2156580 |
