How do you reset the bead of a tire on a rim once popped off?

I am building up a 4x4 that is going to be a daily driver and part time off-roader. With that said when I screw around with it and blow a tire, how would I go about putting it back together on the trail? I am thinking about a small compressor and tank but I thought you had to have a whole lot of pressure at once. Please enlighten me.

Yes, in order to reset a bead your going to need a way to get as much air in there as possible. Probably like around 100+ psi and you'll need alot more than a 5 gallon tank and you'll also need to remove the valve stem to get it in there faster. Other than that or you go with a 20# co2 tank and regulator, that will be enough to reset a tire. Or you can do it like I did it twice on Dec. 6th in uwharrie, get a couple cans of starting fluid (ether) make sure the rim is dry and spray it around on the inside, but not too much you don't wanna blow it up then put a paper towel or something on a stick and light her up.

The best way is to use a bead seater, but out on the trail we use Ether, the best way is to pull the valve stem, attach a air chuck that clips on, have your buddy kink the hose so there is no air flow top the tire, spray it with starting fluid, light it and when it goes pop, your buddy lets go of the hose and it fills, but make sure you get all the excess starting fluid out of the tire by filling it with air and deflating it otherwise the tire can explode if fluid is left in the tire and the tire gets hot, good luck.

for something that has popped a bead you can use a web strap. The hard part is to get it to seat enough to hold air. Wrap the tire with your web strap and tighten until it starts to seat. Then air it up. It worked great on my skid loader when I ran the tire off the rim.
