Task Force LS headers

Does anyone know what headers fit best in a Task Force truck with a Camaro subframe and an LS engine. I'm sure there's a post somewhere on here, but I can't find anything with the subframe? Will 2nd gen Camaro headers work? Or would shorty headers fit better?

I've posted this before but once again: Unless you WANT headers for the look, you don't need them most likely. My mildly cammed LQ4 (6.0) is running Z06 Corvette exhaust manifolds which flow well up to 500hp and don't pose much problem for fitting with IFS. In my case, Flat Out Corvette cross member and components.

Don't long tube headers improve low end performance at the cost of high end?

Dave, I have a SBC (not LS) in my 57 with 2nd gen subframe, and have Doug's long tube headers that fit great. No clearance issues with steering box, etc. whatsoever. Jim

Is your engine set back farther on the subframe than where it would be if in a Camaro. Is the LS is engine mounted with adapters on Camaro Lower engine mounts. The steering box is up front so it won't be a problem, the main place there could be a problem would be the lower A arm at the rear.

Re: Task Force LS headers

It is not in the truck yet. I am planning to use adapter mounts that have multiple hole patterns so I can adjust it if I need to. It looks like shorty headers that don't have the collector at the very back will work best. Those look like they interfere with the bell housing. The motor is going to be sitting really low in the engine bay, so I thought I could build up the mounts an inch or so if I need to. But it sounds like long tube 2nd gen headers will work or shorties. I would just use stock manifolds if the engine that I bought had them, but they were missing.

Header clearance problems on a TF aren't what they are or can be on an AD or 60/87 C series for sure.

As you surmised, from what I have seen photos of it looks like the clearance around the flange is the issue on most installations in trucks. I don't think that the subframe will be the issue as much as side clearance though.

This is show and tell and not a suggestion to buy but these shorties stick out 4-5/8 at
the widest part. https://www.holley.com/products/exha...st%20Manifolds

These Hooker Blackheart cast manifold/headers are interesting https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Hooker-BlackHeart-71223026HKR-LS-Exhaust-Manifolds-82-04-S-10,433021.html?sku=42571223026HKR&utm_matchtype={match_type}&msclkid=a6d0efbd1cc410b5245a8dbd6c6e2c3 e&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=SMI%20-%20Shopping%20(CSE)%20(Bing)&utm_term=4577404346894280&utm_content=All%20Products%20(Feb28_2020)

Re: Task Force LS headers

I"m not sure about the camaro front end but i ran https://speed-engineering.com/ long headers and really like them for the price, quality

I had a ls engine with a Mustang ii front and it worked awesome.. The ls long tube headers all the same from the camaro to the truck they just call them different but they arent..

I"m going to be running them probably again on my next truck too.. just trying to make a choice to turbo my 6.0 or not..

I'm using factory camaro LS exhaust manifolds with my gen2 Camaro subframe. I would assume if they're headers that fit an LS based camaro, they should also work in the gen2 camaro subframe.
