I get mine from CJ Pony. They have sales and ship for free. That’s where your going to save, is on the shipping.

No, it’s a website that sells parts & supplies for our classic vehicles. This is for the top & bottom foam
https://www.cjponyparts.com/bench-se...9-1972/p/SF60/
This is for just the seat bottom foam

Just following up on how the seat foam fit/feel from CJ pony. I know they are from dashes direct, just want to see how they are vs the PUI that people say are too stiff and too high. Thanks

The foam from Dash Direct/CJ Pony, it’s not stiff at all. In fact, when I restore the seats that I do, 73-87. People want new foam, but there are a lot of times I will steer them to using good original foam. To me it’s more dense and firm. Even when I redid my seat, for my truck. I had every intention to use new foam, but eventually used a good original foam from a rear crew cab seat.

I just redid my seat. It had a pretty good lean to the drivers door. When I took the cover off I found the side support was broken in 3 places. I remake a new on and the foam felt pretty good compared to the passenger so I reused it. Now back in the truck there is still a little lean to the door. Think if I should pull it back out and try to add some foam and repair or get the one from dashes direct/cj pony

9 times out 10, the “lean” is broken end springs, not the foam. I find them on every seat I strip to repair and restore. GM only used 1 per side, probably why they all broke. When I replace with new springs, I add 2 per side.

TKCR, Is there a supplier that you use for end springs ? I have not taken my seat apart yet, but it has a heck of a lean. I would like to replace them and add a second one as you have suggested. Thanks, Dan.

Either USA1 Industries or LMC. They come from the same supplier. Then you’ll need the clips to fasten them. Clips & Fasteners has those, I buy bulk, so that were I get them.
Again, I use 2 spring per side, so 4 total. And 3 clips per spring, so at least 12 total.
You can install the clips with regular pliers. The tool in the picture with the clips is the only photo I had. I do have the pliers for those clips, a must when I do a bunch of seats.

Where are you located in Ohio? What do you charge to redo a seat with new foam?

TKCR, Thanks for the reply to my post. Honestly, I would not have known where to even begin to search for them. It’s great to have a forum like this where you can share knowledge and resources. Have a great weekend. Dan.

My little support spring was fine, on my truck the top spring that runs from the back on the bottom to the front was broken-the part the little spring actually supports
