Factory interior paint color

The dash pad, door panels, and steering column in my 69 are a dark maroon color. How can I find the color code?

I'm re-painting the steering column and can't find any rattle can paint that's close enough.

an automotive paint store should be able to scan the paint and give you a spray paint can of the exact color but if you have a pic of the spid label on the glove box lid someone can tell you the code if its still readable

This thread should help you.
Many NAPA stores can supply rattle cans with factory paint if you have the code. I got 503 green from Industrial Finishes just by giving them the year and 503.
They tried to use a scanner to get a match in the interior of my suburban but there wasn't a flat surface that was large enough with good enough paint to get a quality scan of the paint. They said they could mix paint from the scans they took but they said there was only a 75 to 80 percent chance the color would be correct.

That's been my experience with color scanning. They really need a good surface of a decent size to get a good match. I've had more luck with matching in color catalogs.

Anyone know the paint code for Silver Fawn Iridescent?

Interior paint codes are tough. I think color matching your column is probably the best approach. Especially since you've got a section of original paint that has been protected from UV for its entire life. I have been working on this for my own project and the codes are not the problem...it's having a valid recipe for an obsolete code. See this thread and associated references:

https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...d.php?t=819003

For whatever difficulties you might have in the scanning process, you can always do spray outs and tweaks.

Best of luck.

Addendum: As you know that's a one year only interior color...but if you're looking for the correct color for upper trim level door panels or dash pad, good examples still exist and often interior sets including seat belts pop up on the board from time to time. This is assuming your interior pieces are too far gone to reference. Also, in any interior color, all the pieces did not "match" from the factory. Consoles, columns, wheels, door panels and dash pads were never all matching...but only close to the same color.

The glovebox sticker shows "618 Red Custom Cloth Trim." Can't find any paint associated with that code.

I did learn that there's a parts store in my area that can color match, so I think I'll try that.

That's what I'm thinking since it was a 69 Chev car color. Can't see where Duplicolor makes it. Looks like it's available only from places like AutomotiveTouchup.com, but theirs is basecoat/clearcoat.
