Re: Cheap front brake upgrades
In my opinion.....stock type 71 and up are excellent disc brakes, in their original form!!!
I would not throw ANY big money at that deal. |

Re: Cheap front brake upgrades
I would avoid drilled rotors. For the reason shown above. Slotted is a better idea for long-term street use.
Drilled rotors have their place on the race track where rotors are considered a consumable to be replaced after X amount of laps or track time. Many times drilling is done when brakes are failing and do to the competition rules there is not an option to install larger brakes. Personally I only buy rotors and other brake components from name brand companies that have something to lose if their components fail. How will that company in China respond when their part fails and your truck is damaged or worse. |
Re: Cheap front brake upgrades
Are there any cheap drilled and slotted rotors? I could have sworn there were some that were on rock auto that may not have been for our trucks but work.

Re: Cheap front brake upgrades
FWIW, and Im not sure what is considered cheap.. But I just ordered this kit for my dads 68. It is shown with drilled and slotted, but I opted for regular disc.

Re: Cheap front brake upgrades
I think POL and Western Chassis are somehow related. I do know the WC stuff is pretty good. I used WC dropped spindles and front sway bar on my 82 C10.
Hope the kit works for you. |
