Rob’s ‘67

Figured since this one is getting built might as well make a thread for it. It’s been in the works for a few years now but over this past winter we’ve brought it to reality. A very good friend of mine, Rob, has been a C/10 nut just like myself for years and has never owned a v8 2wd short bed on air ride. So we’re going to build one for him. I think at this point we’ve had 2 or 3 trucks lined up to build but as time passed we moved to better options so we’ve settled with what we have now. It’s the type of project I love, parts and pieces from all different trucks brought together to make one killer ride. Truck will have a classic 327 power plant with some small upgrades backed by an overdrive trans. Lots of awesome suspension parts allowing it to air out and sit the body on the ground. I’ll do my best to keep the thread up to date. Thanks for following along!

This swb frame is going to be the starting point for the truck, I’m lucky enough to have a table to build off of. It sure beats being on your knees on the floor!

Squaring the frame up on the table before it gets cut apart.

We haven’t decided on management yet but we have a set of Tinworks Fab truck arms and a watts link from PhatPhabz for the rear and for the front we have Choppin Block upper and lower control arms. I’m going to pancake the front crossmember. We also got a set of the bolt on body drop mounts from GK Fab. So we can get the body as low as possible.

Made some small progress this weekend, got the TinWorks link bars and Summit trailing arm crossmember mocked. Going to get the rear end stripped down and mocked up so I can set the rear notch up next.
