Which pitman arm

I'm going to do a power steering conversion in my 67 C20. I think I should use the 68-72 pitman arm K6131. But other threads I read say use the year of the gear box, K6143.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but unless I'm switching out the center link, I need to stick with the 68-72 style, right?

Re: Which pitman arm

My 72 C10 uses the K6131 arm for power steering. '67 may need a different pitman arm tho. The K6143 may be for later model trucks.

I'm going to use a 77-79 gear box, hince which is the proper pitman arm to use.

Bump, anyone? '77-'79 gear box going in my '67 C20. A '67 P/S pitman arm, or '79 pitman arm?

Re: Which pitman arm

Use the 79. The idler arms are different for power and manual and the older style power steering ram (68 maybe 67 also)is way different. I think the idler arms are the same. I do believe its also best to change the cross link also, but I was also doing a disk brake change at the time also, so all my stuff was 78, spindles, ball joints, tie rods, pitman and idler arm. Makes it easier to keep track of.
