Roof panel insulation in between panels

1 Attachment(s)
Ok so I am reworking my cab right now and I removed my inner panels and am adding one with the headliner holes in it. Now once I removed mine I thought I would be able to remove the insulation/sound deadner pad from mine to the panel I was installing after I cleaned up and seal it. Well it does not come off in 1 piece. So what can I use here to replace it? I'm assuming nobody makes this piece. I'm assuming it can not be thicker than what was there. What have you used here if you have done any rof repair. Pic is not my truck. It just shows the pad I'm referring to.

Any current aftermarket sound deadener will accomplish the same thing and probably better. Name brands I have use in the past are DynaMat, AccuMat, etc and many others. Just applying strips in-between the recesses will be more than adequate. Have a lot of Accumat I purchased in the past I will be using in several areas on my truck.

That looks like a project for sure! I have been using Noico heat and sound barrier. Works just as good as the other products for a lot less.

I found the best prices on Amazon for it. Good luck!

I'm doing a full roof replacement....inner and outer panels
I plan on spraying both with Lizard skin sound deadener along with the thermal coating on the outer panel.
I'm afraid that heat in that area may affect the stick on butyl type....maybe not?

When I did mine, I just used some duct insulation that I got from the hardware store and glued down with 3M spray adhesive. The stuff is like a heavy duty, silver bubble wrap.
After I put the outer roof skin on, I got to thinking that it may not have enough mass to really dampen the sound, but the skin was already back on and I wasn't going to pull and re-glue my roof skin over that issue. I don't remember if I took pictures of that part of the process or not; my build thread is in my signature.

Yes I'm scared the stick on butyl stuff will get hot and make a mess. I'd rather do something similar to original if at all possible

There are other insulation choices but I don't think I would want anything in there that would possibly hold moisture.

I used dynamat on my floor, I think it would be the thickness you are looking for.

I personally doubt it will start to "run" on you, it will just stay nice and sticky. Does not hold water, in fact it will waterproof whatever it sticks to.
