Replacing Front Grille Side Brackets

Swapping out the front grille on our 1969 C20 Suburban with a better used one. When I picked it up I didn't notice that the PO removed the side bracket to use on his new grille. Not that big of an issue, my original grille has the brackets. I just am trying to figure out the best/correct way to swap the brackets over. I know I can just use standard aluminum pop rivets, but I like the look of the original style rivets better. Is there an easy way to reinstall the brackets using the original style rivets?

Still looking for help with this. Anyone know where to the OE style rivets?

Installation kits are available with the proper rivets from many venders. The kits I have seen are less than $10. The one I purchased some time ago even has two rivets in black for the 72 model.

Thanks Richard. You wouldn't happen to have a link would you? Or a specific vendor. All the places I have check just sell kits with pop rivets in them.

I have a set of these screws with a round head. Looks great and can be removed easily unlike the OEM rivets. Enough to do both side is $10 with the ride included.

I purchased the same kit but didn't used the rivets. I didn't like the look, especially on the four on the grille face. So I purchased the screws, bulk, years ago. The place is no longer in business.
However, I have plenty of left overs.
I apologize for the price but it covers the postage and a nickle for my time.
I'll post them in f/s as soon as I get time.
It requires 8 per side. I send out 20 so a guy can drop a few.

Your screws look like a great alternative. May hit you up for some myself. Many insist all things done as original. You may have seen some go to the trouble of restoring the original fasteners.

Are your screws black in color on the head of them?

Thanks for the link Richard. Those are the types of kits I was find, where it looks like they are pull thru rivets, ie the "nail" pulls thru and breaks off on the head side and leaves it so you can see whats left of the broken "nail". The stock rivets are a solid rivet with a solid domed head that is all you see when fully installed. I am probably being way to picky about this.

No they are aluminum color. Could be painted or powder coated black easy enough.
Cheers

I'm not sure if these are the correct size but they are already black. If they're the right size, might be good to use for the ones around the headlight buckets.

The Luttyscyhevy set is $6 dollars (and SOLD AS 15 PIECE SET) By my count you need 16 screws.

The black screws from Classic are $1.99 each. Would be almost $32 to do the whole grille. However, only four need to be black.

Good finds. I always enjoy getting information on the difficult to find correct parts.
I had never heard of Lutty's Chevy Warehouse.
Cheers
