Step side step bracket mount location
1 Attachment(s)
I'm piecing together a long step side bed and don't have any cross braces. I started bolting my steps on and I have no where to bolt the step brace to. I'm guessing they bolt to the front bed floor cross member? Does anyone have any pics of these? I'm guessing they are the same between short and long bed.

Here are some photos of the driver side step brace on a shortbed.

Re: Step side step bracket mount location
While you atill have the parts in an inspectable position, can you see any difference between Shortbed stepside fenders and Longbed stepside fenders?
A fender I just got for my '68 C/10 Shortbed Stepside, Right Rear, has these little holes on the bottom rear flange for it to bolt to a rear step tread. My big question is the Fender/Box/Sidewall bolt pattern the same? |

So far from what I can tell the bolt pattern for short and long bed fenders is the same. The step holes at the mounting flange is the same too. The only difference is the step notch on the LH fender. Short bed fenders have the notch higher than a long step bed. The long step bed fender is lower and goes into the lower body line.
The primer fender is a short bed fender. |
Re: Step side step bracket mount location
I don't have a fender mount spare, so I guess I'm OK, if not in high clover. The trailing edge flange for the rear step tread can be folded back, I guess.
On my shortbed, the rear fenders hang in space |

I Flipped them. I don't know what is making them look so grainy though. Looks like you took them through a screen door.... LockDoc |
