64-66 auto column
I have an original auto steering column in my 65 c10 that I am restoring. The shifter seemed to be froze up from sitting. I pulled the steering wheel and turn signal switch and sprayed some wd 40. I finally got it to work but now I cant get the collar to turn and lock back in position. I got it in position once but when I shifted back to park the collar turned and came off again Then I pinched my finger when I was working the shifter So before I set it on fire and called it a day I came in the house to cool off. Why cant I get the collar to turn and lock in position and stay there?

Re: 64-66 auto column
Still not able to get the collar back in place. This is the piece that the turn signal switch sits in. It is like the shifter will not go toward the dash enough to let this other piece go into place. I looked at the lower part of the column and it seems right

Re: 64-66 auto column
I got it Took a flat screw driver and did some prying then pop something popped into place and now the column shifts just like it should.
