a heads up for you guys!

thought id share my freak accident that happened today...i was pulling out of a parking lot into 2 lanes of on coming cars, i thought i should put my seatbelt on (usually i wear it but around the house im lazy) well i pull the belt over from the right to latch to the other half and i sorta flung it cause i was steering onto the road at the same time, well the weird thing that happened was the buckle hung up on the steering wheel where the center peice meets the outside ring (stock wheel) and i couldnt turn anymore!!!!i had to lock up the brakes and so did a mini van that was in the far lane:rolleyes: talk about a freak thing...i guess my point is if your going to put your seatbelt on dont do it while turning the wheel! lol has this ever happened to anyone else?

DAMN MAN!! Glad you hear you made it out of the situation okay! I haven't had that happen to me, but haven't had to buckle up very often, while driving. I'll consider myself warned!:D

I've had the linkage (3 spd manual here) bind up on me a couple times while driving down the road - and it's forced me to pull over and make traffic go around. That aggravates me to no end! Usually only happens when the truck is cold.

my friend's steering wheel came off while driving.....does that count? he and his 70 el-camino made it out just fine.

Yep, Yep - I remember years ago in highschool driving a shop vehicle around the compound with the steering removed, and in it's place - a pair of vice grips!!! Was an old green Chevy Nova that had only one rear drum brake working, cracked windshield, holes in the seats, bald tires with wires poking through, missing muffler and 1/2 of the piping....the list goes on! I miss that car! :metal:

Yeah Chevyguy,
Haven't you ever driven the tires off a vehicle until those little wires come through the tread? I used to do that alot back in high school because of no money for tires.
