Wiper motor and arms
1 Attachment(s)
Hello:
Besides the wiper arms, are these 3 the only parts or am I missing a smaller arm? I am trying to convert to a newport engineering 12 volt motor and It has been a while since I have taken these pieces apart. Thannks |
Re: Wiper motor and arms
#3 is the passenger side linkage, you are missing the drivers side.
https://www.classicindustries.com/sh...-1535062464283 #2 is the oem vacuum wiper motor. Hard to see but I think you are missing the spring that keeps the linkage on https://www.classicindustries.com/sh...w-811580860707 There is a knob on the dash with short linage to control motor #1 looks like a single speed electric wiper motor from a rear wiper, boat or something |
Re: Wiper motor and arms
#1 is as Leegreen said a single speed electric wiper motor. Very commonly used on older flat fender jeeps and they were used on hot rods in the 70's quite a bit. My experiene says they don't work well on AD trucks although there were guys advocating using them in the 70's.

Re: Wiper motor and arms
Thank you guys.
Well, all these came out from udner the dash of my 53 GMC. I had them in a palstic bag during dissamebly but due to the lenght of the longer arm the plastic bag was not sealed well. So, I am assuming at one point the previous owner, decades ago, just installed the single stage motor on the drive side since I can't find the smaller arm. That is a bad news for me since the repalcement arms are spendy! |

I've got an extra or two.
I've got a pair sitting somewhere that I pulled for some guy on FB who never got back to me if I can figure out where I put them or I can pull the left one off the orange cab easy enough. I'm not going to use that cowl at all if my plans hold true as I bought the truck to get the back half of the cab. The big cost will be postage. Let me find the other one or get the one off the orange cab in the morning and find a box and weight it. |

It ended up being haul my wife around day and I didn't get out to pull the arm off until later.
it looks like someone stripped the nut on that one along breaking the bezel. My helper wasn't very impressed either so we will have to dig the other one out now. At least we got a good sunset shot out of the deal and now I have to figure out what I did with the other one. My wife's haircut came out good and lunch was good though. |

Re: Wiper motor and arms
I only bought that truck for the roof and the back panel of the cab.
The roof and back side of the cab are near perfect but the rest of the truck had had a hard lihttps://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...720&fit=boundsfe. It had about 500 lbs of brackets welded to the frame for pumps and a water |

I finally found where I had stuck it.
20,00 shipped is what I need. PM me for the details. The bezel is a patina bezel that may or may not polish up and the nut has some marks on it |
