Clutch return spring
1992 k3500.
My clutch master went bad and in the process of replacing and bleeding I noticed I couldn’t get a perfect pedal. Had some slop at very top. Looking under dash it appears there is a return spring on the clutch pedal shaft. Appears mine is broken as it has no tension. Tried searching online, found a part number for one - 15958642. but it appears to be discontinued. Anyone have a source where I can find one? |
Re: Clutch return spring
My only guess would be junk yard

Re: Clutch return spring
Try junk yards, maybe LMC, or list a WTB online. I had a '92 K3500 5spd but never needed a return spring. I did have to replace the clutch slave and master cylinders, repeatedly on the same repair. Couldn't get fully bled and kept returning parts to NAPA. I bought the line between from GM. Still wouldn't bleed out. We figured the parts were defective and I got my money back to go buy from GM. Same problem still! Finally took a look inside the bellhousing and found the pivot for the clutch arm was worn down like a Tootsie Pop. The cylinders were traveling beyond their limit and blowing out internally. I hope this isn't your problem. Just thought I'd add that info in case you need it
