Bugs!!
I hate the looks of a bug shield on the front of the hood but my 94 extended cab 4x4 attracts bugs like a magnet. A 15 mile trip will cause you to have to clean the windshield. Anyone know of a bug shield that looks decent? I'm going to paint it shortly and I was thinking about putting one on after I get it done, I don't know if it's the way the hood is shaped or what but my wife even made the remark about how the windshield seems to attract bugs.

Re: Bugs!!
The best looking ones form to the hood. But I wonder how effective those are. I get the bugs but not so bad it can't wait to be cleaned next gas-up. What I have noticed is stones getting drawn to my windshield. I have never had a broken windshield in anything but a couple GMT400s I've had. My Suburban windshield needs replacement now, and I recently picked up another chip that will spread this winter. I guess I'm glad I waited!

Here's a picture of the '88 with bug shield. The '90 has one too. Both trucks came from Eastern Washington (they have manual transmissions). I can't say how well they work, I'll have to take the '90 on a country drive next spring.

Re: Bugs!!
This one has a couple of really small stone chips, after I got to thinking about it, I had a 99 3500 that had one and I took it off and in no time the front of the hood had several rock chips so maybe they do work.

Re: Bugs!!
Put rainX on the windshield and the bugs should come off real easy.
