Axle Swap

2 Attachment(s)
Well I finally made it through my axle swap. 14 bolt with discs and parking brake. Posi/LS with 4.11 gears from my 6.0 Ls/4l80 donor.

My plasma cutter broke, I got somewhat ripped off, had numerous trips back and forth to the rear end guy but hey, its in. I used captainfab's brackets and widened them since the newer 14 bolts are wider in diameter.

I put a video up on YouTube to show people how I did it all as usual. Can be referenced for any trailing arm GM truck that a swap is desired.

Thank you for posting this video, I may be going down this road myself. Same 14bolt and ratio I'd need too.

Do you know what year 14 bolts are a direct swap in with these 67-72 trucks?

What do you mean by direct swap? I wouldn't consider this a direct swap

I seem to remember reading that the 14 bolts from the square body era bolt in place of an H052/H072. If that's true, I wonder what year rear end that ceases to be true.

I assume your question about a direct bolt in is in regards to the leaf spring trucks?

I don't know the answer to that since I have not dealt with the leaf springs.
