How to lower my 98 C2500?
 

It's the 8600+lbs, 8-lug, etc...

I've never lowered a vehicle before, and don't want to find out the hard way that the stuff I bought only fits the "lighter" 6-lug 2500.

Looking to go 4/6, or maybe a 3/5, if they make such a thing...

The light duty 2500 uses the same spindles as the 1500. The heavy duty 2500 uses the same spindles as the 3500.

Might be tough to find a kit now, but they made em. Seen slammed dually's all the time....

I have Belltech on my 3500.Its a 2/4 if I remember right with Air ride leaf assist bags. I still take regular trips to the dumps.

You being in Tucson, have you heard of Lowboy Motorsports in Phoenix? He specializes in OBS dually drops. I’m sure he can guide you on your 2500, even if it’s not a dually.

i recently picked up a '94 dually. Lowering parts are ALL OVER the place for sale, just make sure you go with name brand and not the no-name stuff. Not worth the risk.

Belltech has good quality parts.

Flip kit on an 8-lug set-up is the easiest way but yields ~8" of rear drop. At that amount the differential is close to contact @ the floor & there's only a little over 1" of travel between the c-notch bump-stop & the rear end. You'll likely need some lift shackles to get 7" of rear drop.

I strongly urge some sort of under-bed step notch or modded bolt-in c-notch to beef the rail strength up. No sense having a 3/4 ton truck that can't do the work it's rated for.

Front is straight forward w/3" spindles & a shorter front coil. Standard replacement shocks work as well.

Rear shock angles are @ a poor angle after dropping & are different side to side from GM. Belltech makes relocation brackets for both the top & bottom to help correct things but there is still a difference in shock angle (it can be corrected).

Belltech kit comes w/a spacer for the center carrier bearing.
